Tallest Building in Bangalore

This is the Public Utility building the tallest in the city. With the fast pace of construction going on here we don't know how long it will be so. This building has a movie theatre, restaurant and a shopping mall apart from the govermnent offices. You can interact with all government offices here. And yes, the building isnt leaning or falling, its just shot at a tilted angle during driving :-)

Big KidsKemp in Bangalore

At one point of time this was the only large store in Bangalore and anybody visiting the city made it a point to see it. Now with the coming up of malls and superstores in every nook and corner, this landmark is being ignored. The place has a deserted looks most of the time. Big KidsKemp loks so small now :-(
Helmet Rule in Bangalore

This morning I was driving to office and saw this guy wearing the helmet in a very ackward manner. This could slip anytime and can be dangerous for him as well as the others on the road. I think people should realize the helmets are for one's own safety and not just a rule imposed on them.

Bangalore Celebrates Diwali!

After the IT boom, Bangalore has truly become cosmopolitan. You don't just find kannadiga's there anymore but equal number of punjabis, gujrathis, marwari's etc! With them, you also see a new way of celebrating the festivals! While punjus are loud in their celebration, gujrathis are colorful!
One bit of advice for the administration though, keep the name Bangalore! Bengaluru sounds like a village and does not befit the world class city that Bangalore is! Who comes up with such half-baked ideas anyway?

BEML Rail Coach Factory

One of the largest suppliers of rail coaches and earth moving equipment, this facrory produces some good stuff. In the picture are shown the finished goods coaches. What i find funny here is that the rail coaches are transpoerted on large trucks. I am just waiting for their next lot to get ready for shipping and post those pics as well. Till then....:-)
Garden City to Concrete Jungle
Bangalore was previously known as Garden City and a paradise for the retired. But with the IT boom, the city has seen an influx of young professionals from all over the world! With this, the demand for real estate has sky rocketed and we can now see many such sky scrapers under construction.
Double Bus - Unique in Bangalore
If other cities have double deckers, we have the double buses!! A sight to see, these double buses can carry more passengers and have less man power, thus saving on the costs!
If you ever visit Bangalore, a ride on one of these buses is a must!
Sky Walk in Namma Bengaluru
To protect pedestrians from travelling into the sky due to various motor accidents, the city started builing many such over head bridges!
Next time you have the urge to run across the road, stop and think! A little bit of patience of climbing the bridge may save your life!

Last Chain in the News Cycle

Everyday you get your newspaper delivered at your doorstep!
The day starts at 3:00 a.m. for these newspaper (NP) delivery boys! They wait patiently till the NP Van drops the package at their respective offices. Then starts the cumbersome process of sorting the newspapers, (e.g., Main Paper, Supplements, etc.,) Yes, the NP Van delivers the papers in different bundles, not sorted. After this is done, they sort them area wise, house wise and then starts the delivery process to each house! At around 7:00 a.m., this process is complete.
At 3:00 p.m. the cycle again starts for the evening edition of papers.
Bengalooru!!

Supermarkets are no competition to these road-side vendors! You can find atleast one street like this in almost every locality in Bangalore! Bengaluru cannot do without them inspite of so many supermarkets.
This picture was taken near Vijayanagar's Main Bus Stand. Interestingly, this road is between two supermarkets "FoodWorld" and "M.K. Ahmed Stores".
I think that people still believe in haggling the vendor for that last paisa less and that is why these road-side shops still exists... People, what say?
SuperMarket!

It is interesting to see that small shops like these still exists! They have all the things imaginable that a person needs in daily life. Fruits, Shampoos, Soaps, Lays, Chocolates, Cigarrettes, Newspapers, Coffee, Tea, Phone Facility, YOU NAME IT, YOU GOT IT! Wonder why so much space is used for constructing huge malls, when you can have it all in a 2' x 2' shop...
Business schools should learn from these guys on space management... hehe!
A vote of thanks to Uday!
Keep our city clean!

Everyday a truck passes by your house carrying all the garbage that you generate. You too can help to keep the city clean. Instead of throwing away papers, used coffee cups, etc., on the road... do yourself a favor, throw it in a nearest waste bin for proper disposal.
It is your city, Keep it clean!

Building Blocks??

Workers like these build us offices/homes/apartments/malls. Often these people are ignored in our day-to-day lives. These ones do certainly deserve a moment of appreciation. Let's take this initiative to atleast smile at them; when we pass by them
